Course Description

This three day course focuses on the impact of whiplash and how it can create restriction patterns throughout the body. Learn tests to determine restriction patterns and techniques to release them. The course includes lecture, demonstration and practice for each technique presented.

Course Outcomes:

  • Study the three primary areas of trauma as they relate to whiplash: physical laws, evaluation and treatment
  • Learn the appropriate anatomy and physiology for the treatment of whiplash, as well as other trauma conditions
  • Learn to locate and release soft tissue restrictions along the meningeal system
  • Understand the types of stress during a trauma – traction, compression and shearing – and how they relate to deformation of the tissues in the body
  • Examine indications for Brachial Plexus manipulation, indications for manipulation of Lumbar Plexus and indications for manipulation of Sciatic Plexus
  • Learn an evaluation protocol that will guide you to the areas of primary restrictions, as well as fascial mobilization techniques to release the restrictions

Prerequisite: Professional healthcare practitioner, student in healthcare program or graduate awaiting license/accreditation with experience in manual therapy
