Course Description

Equine CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is an easy to apply, light touch manual therapy to help relax and rebalance a horse’s nervous system, muscles, and fascia. CST can help a horse become calmer, more responsive to cues/aides, more willing to contact the bit, have smoother movement, and much more.  Behaviour issues are also often corrected or improved with this gentle therapy.

Course Outcomes

Course content includes equine surface anatomy, physiology and biomechanics; introduction to craniosacral techniques including how to feel the craniosacral rhythm and listening stations, signs of release, CST diaphragms and techniques:  pelvic, respiratory, thoracic, hyoid, occipital cranial base; cranial vault techniques; TMJ anatomy & techniques; dural tube; lumbosacral & intertransverse joint techniques; scapular function & techniques; sacrosciatic ligament anatomy & techniques; energy & awareness, safety and equine behaviour.

Participants receive lectures in the mornings with afternoon practice sessions entirely on horses.

Prerequisite: This course is open to veterinarians, equine bodyworkers and horse owners. Candidates must have experience and confidence in handling horses.
